MANILA — Justice would be given to the bereaved families of the 44 Special Action Force (SAF) members who were killed three years ago in the operation in Mamasapano, Maguindanao which neutralized Malaysian terrorist and bomber Zulkifli Bin Hir alias “Marwan”.

This was stressed by Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa Thursday.

“Sa akin dapat kasuhan ang dapat kasuhan. We will not stop finding justice hanggat hindi ma-achieve yung justice sa bereaved families. We will continue seeking justice (for the fallen SAF troopers),” he added.

An investigation is still ongoing to determine who is at fault or liable for the incident. In line with this, PNP commemorated the heroism and sacrifice of the fallen SAF commandos during ceremonies at the Memorial Park, SAF headquarters, in Camp Bagong Diwa,Taguig City.

On Wednesday, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has declared Jan. 25 of every year as the day of “National Remembrance for the Heroic Sacrifice of the SAF 44” in honor of the heroism and sacrifice of the 44 fallen commandos.

In the event, Dela Rosa, was represented by Deputy Director General Archie Francisco Gamboa, PNP Directorial Staff chief.

Newly-installed SAF director Director Noli Taliño hosted the annual event for the elite maneuver force of the PNP.
