Former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Wednesday answered all predictions on his political fate by confirming that he will not run for senatorial elections in 2019 so he could finish his electoral protest against Vice President Leni Robredo.

“I am not running for Senate in 2019,” Marcos said at the Kapihan sa Manila Bay media forum on Wednesday.

The younger Marcos took a firm stand that he won the Vice Presidency in the last election.

Bakit ako tatakbo ng senador eh nanalo na ko ng bise presidente [Why will I run for senator when I already won as vice president]?” Marcos added.

Marcos maintained his belief that he was cheated during the elections and vowed to strive to uncover the truth.

I will not end this protest because I believe that I was cheated during the last election and I will surface the real count of votes so the people will know who really the nation chose as Vice President],” Marcos said.

Ano ba talaga ang tamang resulta? Sino ba talaga ang nanalo? Yun ang mahalaga [What is the correct result really? Who really won? That is the most important],” he added

Marcos added that even if President Rodrigo Duterte would endorse him, he won’t stop for pursuing the protest. “I don’t see any reason why I would change my mind,” Marcos said.

The former Senator was also included in the Magic 12 in the December 2017 senatorial survey of Social Weather Stations (SWS).

Marcos earlier accused Robredo of cheating after he lost to her by over 230,000 votes. However, the Vice President’s camp refuted all accusations.
