Poe calls for Senate probe into the deaths of 3 teens

Published

on

Senator Grace Poe, alarmed by the consecutive deaths of teenagers in separate police operations, which are seen to be an outcome of the government’s ‘bloody’ drug war, wants the Senate committee to investigate on them.

Poe said that it is necessary that these deaths should be scrutinized so as to create and re-evaluate police procedure and guidelines on arresting minors alleged to be involved in illegal activities.

“Before we plummet into chaos and utter savagery, the recent brutal deaths of Kian, Carl, and Reynaldo, and of the other youth victims who came before them, should serve as a wake-up call and a reminder that we are a country of laws and morals,” she said in a resolution filed on Thursday.
