Tropical depression forms outside PAR; LPA still affects most of PH

MANILA – Aside from the low pressure area (LPA) affecting some parts of the country, another weather disturbance spotted outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has intensified into a tropical depression off Sinait, Ilocos Sur province, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Monday.
In its 24-hour forecast, as of 3 a.

m., the tropical depression has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour with gustiness of up to 60 kph and last observed 640 kilometers west northwest of Sinait, Ilocos Sur.

It is moving west northwest at 20 kph.

Due to the LPA, the regions of Bicol and Calabarzon, and the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon will experience moderate to occasionally heavy rains with thunderstorms.

Visayas, Metro Manila, and the regions of Cordillera, Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, and the provinces of Palawan, Aurora, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains with thunderstorms.

The rest of Mindanao and Luzon will have isolated rainshowers mostly in the afternoon and evening.
