Filipino football, netball teams start PH campaign in SEAG

MANILA, Aug. 13 — Aiming for a decent finish, Filipino teams in football and netball plunge to action starting on Monday (August 14) in the 29th Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Based on the general schedule of games provided by host Malaysia football and netball games will start its competitions before the official opening ceremonies set on August 19 at the ultra-modern National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur Sports City in  Bukit Jalil.

Other sports disciplines that will start prior to the official opening include archery (August 16); aquatics-water polo (August 15), synchronized swimming (August 17),  and open water (August 18).

On opening day, athletics, the centerpiece of all sports competitions around the globe starts its preliminaries and sailing.

The Philippine delegation is composed of 495 athletes and will be playing in 41 events of 38 out of 39 sports disciplines calendared by the host.
