MANILA, July 28—  LGIS Qualifications Assessment Authority and United Kingdom-based Pearson LCCI have partnered to bring their international certification program to the Philippines.

LGIS chief executive officer, Loda Grace Zuyco-Dulla, said in an interview that bringing an international qualification program to the country opens opportunities for Filipinos to boost learning competency and employment here and abroad.

Zuyco-Dulla said LGIS and Pearson LCCI’s international qualification program covers such areas as English proficiency, business administration and information technology, financial and quantitative, and marketing and customer service.

“This is the country’s first international qualification program that offers Filipinos a broad range of subject areas that are being practiced internationally,” she said.

“We aim to align the learning needs of all learners with high-quality international qualifications. All training and education institutions must aim to grow their talent pool and equip their graduates with internationally benchmarked qualifications across its faculty to increase global competitiveness.”

Zuyco-Dulla cited that most job postings in Singapore require either a college diploma or an LCCI qualification.

She said anyone who has at least finished the K to 12 program, can take the program and be internationally certified for a skill.

She said LGIS and LCCI will provide an international curriculum to various accredited Assessment Centers and Training Centers (ACTC) across the country.

However, for their initial operation, LGIS and LCCI have partnered with at least 10 schools and universities, particularly in the Davao and Soccsksargen regions, for the qualification program.

Currently, LGIS is present in Makati, Laguna, Olongapo, Davao, General Santos, Kidapawan, and Koronadal.

Zuyco-Dulla noted that LGIS and LCCI aim to partner with and support the Department of Education, Commission on Higher Education, and other academic and vocational insitutions nationwide. (KMC/PNA)
