MANILA—Filipinos abroad who participated in the overseas absentee voting (OAV) have voted for Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., as their president and vice president, respectively, in the recently concluded May 9 polls.

According to the data released by Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Rowena Guanzon, showed that the Davao City local chief executive got the most number of votes with 313,346 while the senator was in top place with 176,669 OAV votes.

Duterte was close to being the unanimous choice in all the Philippine posts except for one polling centre, The Vatican.

Liberal Party bets, Mar Roxas and Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo, both came in second with 41,263 and 89,935 votes, respectively.

On the other hand, Marcos was the top choice of Filipinos in 49 Philippines posts while the remaining 10 voted for the congresswoman from Bicol.

On Saturday, the Comelec, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBoC), announced that they have completed the canvassing of all the 59 Certificates of Canvass (COCs) from Philippine posts abroad.

Comelec – Office for Overseas Voting (OFOV) data showed that a total 432,706 participated in the month-long OAV or a 31.44 percent out of the 1,376,067 registered voters.
