MANILA — Ken Anderson admitted that his brother Gerald Anderson was at first, hesitant to have him join showbiz.

“That is true about two years ago. I’ve never said this one in public. I’ve never said it on a talk show. I’ll say it now. I auditioned for a talent show for a different station. I got it pero I had to back out. The reason why is because my brother, ayaw niya talaga,” he said.

The younger Anderson made the statement in an interview on “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” on Wednesday.

“I guess he’s just being a kuya. A kuya is going to be there to protect his little brother. He didn’t want me to get hurt. He didn’t want me to see the dark side of showbiz, the toxic side of showbiz,” he said.

But Ken said that Gerald changed his mind when he told Gerald not  to worry about him anymore.

“I told him na, ‘Gerald, I’m a big boy. You don’t have to worry about me anymore.’ You have to stand up when you get pushed down.”

He also said that is enjoying his work, adding that his brother became his motivation to work everyday.

“I’m having a good time. I’m enjoying every day.”

“When I get a project, I’m super excited to wake up in the morning. When I’m tired and I don’t want to go, my brother is the one who gives me motivation na, ‘You have to go. Hindi ka pwedeng tamad tamad. You got to go.”
