MANILA – Senator Nancy Binay on Thursday expressed dismay at the Senate Blue Ribbon subcommittee headed by Sen. Koko Pimentel for allowing unsubstantiated and unfounded allegations and videos presented in a Senate hearing.

Binay was referring to a video taken during the so-called Dasmarinas Village incident whereby Atty. Renato Bondal categorically said that “Sen.

Binay is holding a gun”.

The lady senator said she was carrying a Samsung Note cellphone and not a gun as Bondal had insinuated during last Tuesday’s 22nd Senate inquiry into the alleged overpriced Makati City government buildings.

“I dare him to show proof aside from his words,” Binay said.

“What happened to the hearing of the Senate Blue Ribbon subcommittee? Why did Sen. Koko allow the subcommittee to be ruled by false witnesses who continue to fabricate lies?” she asked.

During the hearing, Pimentel ordered Bondal to substantiate the connection of the video to the main issue being investigated by the Senate blue ribbon subcommittee.

Binay said the Senate hearing has become a venue to present statements that had no legal value and will not even aid the legislative process.

”The hearing is too personal,” the daughter of Vice President Jejomar Binay said.

In the Senate hearing, the Vice President has been invited but again, Binay was no-show.

The Vice President has been accused of receiving kickbacks from the overpriced Makati City Hall parking building constructed during his time as Makati City mayor.
