MRT rail replacement project set to start

MANILA — The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) is all set to begin the Metro Rail Transit line 3 (MRT-3) rail rehabilitation.
To replace the worn-out parts of the train, the agency has completed the delivery of 7,296 meters of brand-new steel rails.
The management is now preparing to install the said steel rails and is planning to conduct the replacement during non-operating hours to avoid disruptions on its services.
This year, the department has conducted several rail replacement works for the MRT-3.
In January, the Jorgman-Daewoo-MBTech joint venture was awarded with the P61.
5 million contract for the supply of 608 pieces of 12-meter steel rails for MRT-3.
