MANILA — Malacanang is looking forward to the immediate implementation of the order dismissing resigned Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Alan Purisima from service.

PNP officer-in-charge Deputy Director General Leonardo Espina said that they will implement the order immediately.

“This is immediately executory, so we will make sure this order is served and implemented,” he said.

“We have to submit a report to the ombudsman within five days.

I called TCDS to issue order to implement this,” he added.

Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales said the decision to dismiss Purisima and other top PNP officials came after thorough investigation.

“The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) should implement it right away,” she said.

Purisima was charged following his alleged involvement in an anomalous contract with a courier service for the delivery of gun licenses.

He was ordered to be dismissed along with Chief Supts. Raul Petrasanta and Napoleon Estilles; Sr. Supts. Allan Parreño, Eduardo Acierto and Melchor Reyes; Supt. Lenbell Fabia; Chief Insps. Sonia Calixto, Nelson Bautista and Ricardo Zapata Jr.; and Sr. Inspr. Ford Tuazon.

Espina noted that once dismissed, they will be separated from police service.

“When you’re dismissed, you’re not part of the police force anymore,” he said. “This includes penalties of forfeiture of benefits, in other words in pure and simple language, dismissed from the service,” he added.
