MANILA — Passengers of a Cebu Pacific plane from Zamboanga City  waited for more than two hours to disembark at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Monday evening.

Cebu Pacific Flight 57856 arrived 15 minutes earlier than its arrival time.

However, passengers of the said flight waited for more than two hours before they were able to disembark.

“Cebu Pacific Flight 5J856 Zamboanga [City] to Manila landed 15 minutes earlier than its schedule arrival last night, June 22. Disembarkation was delayed as the flight had to wait for an available parking bay. Passengers were able to disembark at 11:57,” the air carrier said in a statement.

The pilot announced that there was no available parking bay for the planes.

Public Relations officer of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), David De Castro also confirmed in a report for the ABS-CBN News by Aaron Lozada, that there were not enough parking bays during the time of the plane’s arrival.

“The allocated parking bay for Cebu Pacific Flight 5J856 was being utilized by another airplane of the carrier [Cebu Pacific],” De Castro said.

He also added that the delays were despite their constant coordination with the Cebu Pacific handlers to remove other airplanes in the parking bays.

Cebu Pacific Flight 5J856 instead, disembarked at the international wing of Terminal 3, according to De Castro.
