Contracts for MRT maintenance awarded to 4 groups

MANILA — Four groups were recently awarded with contracts worth P61.5 million for the maintenance of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) along EDSA.

The Department of Transportation and Communications finally awarded the contracts to four individual groups.

Topping the list with the biggest contract is Jorgman-Korail-Erin Marty joint venture with P23.9 million budget for the general maintenance of rail tracks and permanent ways.

Global Epcom Services Inc. followed with a contract worth P23.35 million for the maintenance of stations, depot and other infrastructure.

For the upgrade and maintenance of communications systems, the DOTC has awarded a P7.28- million contract to Trilink Technologies Inc.

The Future Logic Corp., was awarded with a P6.95-million contract for the maintenance of all automated fare collection system (AFCS) equipment system, software, and spare parts.

DOTC Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya said he is now looking forward to the productive results of the contracts.

He assured passengers of the train that they will soon experience the changes in the country’s railway systems.
