Dionisia Pacquiao questions being taxed

MANILA – Dionisia Pacquiao, the mother of people’s boxing champ Manny Pacquiao, questioned the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) on her tax liability when he has no job, business or property.

She then filed a petition for review to the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA). She earlier protested her tax assessment but received no response.

The CTA had not yet assigned her case to a division. Her petition was sent last April 17. The tax court, however, only received it last May 8.

In 2013, Manny Pacquiao was charged with a P2.2 billion tax evasion case by the BIR. He also filed a petition for review.
