AFP Medical Center research, the best in ASEAN
MANILA — The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Medical Center research was deemed the best in the recently concluded Young Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN) Military Medical Officer (YAMMO) Research Presentation at the 5th ASEAN Chiefs of Military Medicine Conference.
The latter was held at Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar from April 27 to May 1.
The winning research, which dealt on the Intra-articular Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Concentrate Injection as a conservative treatment to Degenerative Osteoarthritis of the knee in the personnel of AFP compared with Intraarticular Sodium Hyaluronate Injection, was conducted by Capt. Henry R. Tabinas.
He is a orthopedic surgeon at the AFP Medical Center.
Tabinas is a member of the AFP delegation attending the 5th ASEAN Chiefs of Military Medicine Conference.
The delegation was headed by AFP Medical Center head Col. Joseph M. Acosta.
The AFP shall be hosting the 6th ASEAN Chiefs of Military Medicine Conference and YAMMO to be simultaneously held in Manila next year.
