Free mobile app will bring live KHL playoffs, archived games to Canadians

Canadian hockey fans curious to check out the Kontinental Hockey League will be able to watch live games for the first time.

Television network One World Sports, which holds the American rights to the KHL, and developer Kiswe Mobile are joining forces to bring games from the largest professional league in Asia and Europe to Canadian viewers through Kiswe’s free Trekker Live app.

Beginning March 26, the 2015 KHL conference final playoff rounds and Gagarin Cup finals will be available to watch live. Older games are currently available through the app’s archive.

The free app, which will allow fans to access enhanced features such as multiple camera feeds, English and Russian commentary and live replay, is available for Apple and Android devices.

“Delivering live games free to fans in Canada is another example of our commitment to bringing best in class sports production to our dedicated fans, and this partnership will enable us to create a viewing experience like no other,” One World Sports vice-president Bob Brown said in a statement
