Prosecution pushes for Revilla’s transfer to regular jail
MANILA – The prosecution is now urging the Sandiganbayan to transfer Sen. Ramon Bong Revilla Jr. to a regular jail, following their success in stopping the senator from posting bail.
The Sandiganbayan was urged to have Revilla transferred from the Philippine National Police (PNP) custodial center in Camp Crame to a regular jail facility.
The case, however, is yet to be decided by Sandiganbayan’s First Division.
Led by Joefferson Toribio, the prosecution is also planning to garnish or freeze Revilla’s properties which amounted to P224 million.
According to Assistant Ombudsman and spokesperson Asryman Rafanan, Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales expressed commendation to Toribio for their latest victory involving the bail petition of Revilla.
The petitions for bail of Revilla’s co-accused including Richard Cambe and Janet Lim-Napoles were also denied by the court.
