He died on Sunday morning.

A second fire broke out in the same city at 9:25 p.m. but there are no reports about casualty.

Based on investigations, authorities said that there is a possibility that an unattended lit candle caused the fires.

Gerardo Sundiya Sr. was working when the fire occurred. He rushed back to his house to save his family, but came too late.

The other victims in the Manila fire include Violeta Acleta, 65; Mary Rose Reyes, 34; Carlito Guevarra, 41 and Solito Blanca, 32.

Meanwhile, according to Makati City fire official Segundino Comon, the Bautista family were already sleeping when the fire started. None of the family members of Bautista noticed him when he slipped back to the burning house.

Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the fire which started at Bautista’s room.

The fire reached first alarm and was put out at 3:40 am.
