Napoles employees posed as farmers — Luy
MANILA — Pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles allegedly asked her employees to have their picture taken as farmers receiving livelihood kits from the bogus non-government organizations, according to whistle-blower Benhur Luy.
Testifying in court on Wednesday, Luy said that Napoles asked them to make up fake pictures for documentation.
“Even the pictures in the (disbursement reports) were fake. The drivers and errand boys were told by Napoles to pose as farmers receiving seeds, chemical sprays and other items,” Luy said when asked by Napoles’ lawyer Stephen David about the documents used in their operations.
Luy added that the picture taking was done in one of Napoles’ warehouse in Pandi Bulacan and in one of her properties in Taguig City.
He said that the pictures were used when inspectors are coming to their office to verify the existence of the programs that their NGOs are funding.
“The pictures were used when there was an inspection [for] actual implementation of the projects. We just made up the distribution of the items,” Luy said in a hearing of Sen. Bong Revilla’s bail case.
Revilla is now facing graft charges in the anti-graft court for his alleged involvement in the pork barrel scam.
