MANILA — A Makati police chief said yesterday, that the caretaker of the house , where the fatal hazing of Guillo Servando was held, will serve as a government witness and will be listed under the witness protection program.

Jomar Pajarito, the house caretaker will be given protection under the Department of Justice (DOJ’s) witness protection program, according to Makati Police chief Senior Superintendent Manuel Lukban.

“We will bring him to the DOJ for inclusion in the witness protection program on Monday. He only asks that his wife and child also be included in the program,” Lukban said.

The police chief said Pajarito, who lives with his wife and child in the house in Barangay Palanan, has been receiving threatening text messages after he decided to turn witness in the hazing case.

Pajarito surrendered to the police several days after Servando died and since then, his wife has reported that they have been seeing several people circling near the vicinity of their house.

Following Servando’s death, a total of 20 people were charged on Friday for violating Republic Act 8049, the Anti-Hazing Law.
