MANILA — A Filipina working as a household service worker, who was reported to have been raped, fell from a building in Kuwait.

Krizia,  not her real name, 27, is working for an Iranian employer since her arrival in Kuwait last May 17.

In trying to escape from her employer, she tied up the bed sheets and tried to escape out of the window of a building where she was allegedly locked in a room.

Krizia narrated that she was raped by the brother of her female employer last June 9.

But the moment she tried to complain, her employer, who did not believed her, dismissed the issue.

She decided to seek help of her manpower agency on June 16 and they immediately filed a case against her employer.

The employer however, bargained for her immediate repatriation in exchange of her not pursuing the case, saying that the case may still drag on for years.

Krizia said she was locked up inside a room at her agency’s building when she said that she wanted to go to the Philippine Embassy to seek help.

“Tumatakas po ako kasi naka-lock po ang pintuan. Gusto ko po pumunta ng embassy para magsumbong po kasi ni rape po ako,” Krizia said in an interview for ABS-CBN News.

The Philippine Embassy has recently suspended the manpower agency and is now preparing to file a case against the said agency and the employer of Krizia.
