PNP releases mugshots of Deniece Cornejo

MANILA — Model Deniece Cornejo seemed to have heeded her grandfather’s plea and surrendered to the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday regarding charges of serious illegal detention filed against her and four other people involved in the mauling of actor-host Vhong Navarro in January 2014.

PNP has releases the model’s mug shots Monday evening.

Cornejo spent the night at PNP’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group’s Anti-Transnational Crime Unit detention cell. According to CIDG head chief Supt. Benjamin Magalong, she will be transferred to the Taguig Regional Trial Court Tuesday.

Cornejo’s lawyer informed the media that their team will file a petition to bail despite serious illegal detention being a non-bailable offense. Her lawyer said the case against their client is ‘weak.’
