Despite the rains on February 15, athousand Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) members, supporters, and friends participated in the Sydney leg of the “Worldwide Walk” held by the INC simultaneously around the globe that day. Consul General Anne Jalando-on Louis, Consul Marford Angeles, Administrative Officer Jose Jacinto Morales, Protocol Officer Russell Villegas, Property Officer Jessie Llaneta and members of their families joined the charity walk.

Consul General Louis congratulated INC District Minister Renniel Serreno for the large turnout despite the rains. She thanked all the participants for spending their Saturday morning to raise funds for the construction of houses for families affected by typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in Tacloban and its surrounding areas.

The Charity Walk in Sydney took place along the scenic Sydney Harbour, including the iconic Sydney Opera House. INC organized the walk which simultaneously took place in the Philippines, New Zealand, the United States and other countries in Europe and in Asia, in a bid to break the Guinness World Record for the largest charity walk in 24 hours on multiple sites. The following day, February 16, it was reported that the Guinness World Records officially announced that the INC broke the record.
