PAGASA: Isolated rainshowers to prevail over PHL Thursday
MANILA—Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail throughout the archipelago on Thursday even as tropical storm “Dante” has already entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
State weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) earlier forecast that “Dante” would not have any direct effect on the country.
In its 5 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said “Dante” was last eyed at 1,330 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora. It has maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph, heading north at 13 kph.
Meanwhile, PAGASA also said the ridge of a high pressure area is extending over northern Luzon.
Moderate to occasionally strong winds will blow from the east to northeast over northern Luzon, and its coastal waters will be moderate to occasionally rough.
Light to moderate winds blowing from northeast to north will prevail over eastern Visayas and the rest of Luzon, and from north to northwest over the rest of the archipelago with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.
