MANILA—At least 10,362 job opportunities await thousands of jobseekers in job and business fairs in Central Luzon, which is part of the nationwide activities of the labor department in celebration of the 115th Labor Day.

A total of 143 employers and 24 POEA accredited recruitment agencies will participate in the event and will offer around 7,575 local and 2,787 overseas employment opportunities to the jobseekers particularly fresh graduates, displaced workers and returning overseas Filipino workers.

Most of the job vacancies for local employment include Production Operators, Customer Service Representatives, Sales Clerks, Customer Service Consultants, Retail and Sales Agents, Sewers, Cashiers, Drivers, and Accounting Staff.

On the other hand, most overseas employment vacancies include machine operators, welders, housekeepers, domestic helpers, construction workers, automotive mechanics, bakers, baristas, caretakers, drivers, nurses, and waiters/waitresses.

The region-wide job and business fairs on May 1 will be held at SM City Baliuag in Bulacan; and SM City Malls – Pampanga, Clark, and San Fernando Downtown in Pampanga.

Other venues on the same day include Metro Town Mall in Tarlac City; Freedom Park Capital Grounds, Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija; and Ayala Harbor Point, Subic Freeport Zone, Zambales.

Aside from May 1, another job and business fair in Bataan and nearby residents will be held on May 5 at the Vista Mall, Balanga City.

The region-wide job and business fairs replicate the trabaho, negosyo, kabuhayan (tnk) concept forged by the dole and department of trade and industry (dti)

Which aims to bring employment opportunities and entrepreneurship at the grassroots level.

DOLE regional director atty. Ana Dione advises jobseekers to pre-register at the philjobnet website http://philjobnet.

gov.ph/ or at the nearest peso in their areas before may 1 to avoid delays during the job fair.

“We advise our jobseekers to pre-register to avoid delays. Come in proper attire and bring multiple copies of your resumes, certificates of employment, transcript of records, clearance, photos, and other pertinent pre-employment documents needed by employers,” Dione said.
