MANILA-– The Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) is deploying 426 personnel to provide security for the heads of states who will attend the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Summit next week.

The PNP-HPG will also provide security to the spouses of the respective heads of states and ministers, as well as for the city tours to be conducted.

PNP-HPG spokesman Senior Insp. Jem Delantes on Thursday said that they will prepare 12 convoy packages for the heads of states.

The PNP-HPG will provide 82 convoy security package for the safe movement of the heads of states, spouses, ministers and parliamentary assembly members.

For the spouses of the heads of states, there will be 11-convoy package, 10 for the ministers and nine for the city tours.

The PNP-HPG will spearhead the security in the convoy of the delegates who will attend the ASEAN Summit.

Delantes said that under the task group diplomatic delegates convoy security, about 426 PNP-HPG personnel will be deployed in the convoy of the delegates and heads of states for the ASEAN Summit.

He added that a convoy will also be deployed for other delegates who would either travel in Metro Manila or attend other meetings.

Likewise, the PNP-HPG also appealed to the public to cooperate with the security measures to be implemented, especially in the routes where the convoy of the delegates will pass.
