MANILA— Senator Alan Peter Cayetano on Tuesday said that while President Rodrigo Duterte already promised to include him in his Cabinet, changes in needs might call for changes in decisions.

“The preference of the President was for me to join him in the Cabinet now the need changes,” Cayetano told reporters in an interview.

Cayetano said there are several legislations both he and the President want to be passed, and that he is “helping out” including on the death penalty bill, emergency powers bill and shift to federalism.

“There are legislation that we want to be passed in the Senate so I’m helping out,” he added.

Cayetano’s appointment ban will be lifted on May. He said that he will respect whatever decision Pres.
