PAGASA: Rains to prevail over PHL due to tail-end of cold front, northeast monsoon Thursday

MANILA—Rains will prevail over the archipelago as the tail-end of a cold front affects the eastern part of Visayas and Mindanao, and the northeast monsoon is affecting Luzon, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Thursday.

In its 24-hour forecast, PAGASA said cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides will be experienced over Caraga and Zamboanga Peninsula.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms is expected over Visayas, the rest of Mindanao and Palawan.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from northeast will prevail over Luzon, Visayas and eastern Mindanao.

Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Winds will be light to moderate coming from northeast with slight to moderate seas, the agency said.
