Dela Rosa offers PNP custodial center to De Lima
BAGUIO CITY—Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa on Saturday offers the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City to Senator Leila M. De Lima, if ever an arrest order will be issued by the court against her.
Dela Rosa made the offer a day after the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed charges against De Lima for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002”, before the Muntinlupa City Regional Trial Court (RTC) for her alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade.
Dela Rosa said that the PNP Custodial Center was the safest detention facility in the country and that he could assure the personal security of De Lima there.
Among the known personalities who are now currently detained at the PNP Custodial Center are former Senators Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada and Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. for their alleged involvement in the multi-million peso pork barrel scam.
Detained businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles is the alleged “brains” behind the PHP10-billion pork barrel and the Php 900-million Malampaya Fund scams.
