MANILA—The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) said Wednesday it continues to deliver humanitarian assistance to the victims of the earthquake that struck Surigao del Norte province last Friday night.

In coordination with local chapters, the PRC conducted hygiene promotion, offered blood pressure consultations, and provided psychosocial support to the victims.

To address the need for safe and clean water, it deployed water treatment, six bladders, four generator sets, and two onion tanks (collapsible water tanks) from Tacloban.

It also set up three welfare desks at the Caraga Regional Hospital, Capitol grounds, and Surigao City auditorium, as well as eight family tents at the Capitol grounds. It provided 75 family tents and 2,600 blankets from its Mandaluyong warehouse and has shipped 25 units of whole blood.

The PRC likewise deployed two ambulances from Agusan del Norte and Agusan del Sur, one water tanker from Zamboanga City, a rapid assessment team from Bukidnon, and an operations team from Davao and Zamboanga City.
