MANILA –Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella said on Wednesday that 31st EDSA People’s Power Anniversary will be celebrated this year with Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea as head of the EDSA People’s Power Commission.

”We mark this year’s celebration of the EDSA People’s Power Anniversary on the 25th of February as “A Day of Reflection: Celebrating People Power,” Abella said in a text message to Palace reporters.

Abella said Medialdea’s co-chair will come from private sector “that still needs to be discussed.”

The commission was also headed by former Executive Secretary Pacquito Ochoa.

The Philippines earned the world’s accolade in 1986 following a bloodless revolution that ended the 20-year authoritarian regime of President Ferdinand Marcos.

The country will be celebrating EDSA People’s Power anniversary for the first time under President Rodrigo Duterte.

Living up to his election campaign promise, President Duterte has allowed Marcos to be finally buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani on Nov.
