Comelec open to inquiry on hacking of its website, says chairman
MANILA—The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is open to any inquiry on the hacking of its website in March 2016, less than two months before the May national and local polls.
“I welcome any inquiry,” Comelec chairman Juan Andres Bautista said in a text message, as he welcomed the move of Senator Leila de Lima to investigate the data hacking incident.
On Monday, the lawmaker filed a Senate resolution seeking an inquiry into the “Comeleaks” to determine the extent of its damage.
Earlier, the National Privacy Commission (NPC), in its 35-page decision, found the poll body liable over the massive voter data breach.
