MANILA – The remains of the late former Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Renato Coronado Corona were laid to rest at the Heritage Park, Taguig City on Friday.

From the Supreme Court in Faura, Manila, the remains of Corona were brought to the Heritage Park and a mass was held with the family before the interment.

Aside from the family of the late chief justice, those who attended the burial rites were SC Associate Justice Mariano C.

Also present were Court of Appeals (CA) Presiding Justice Andres Reyes, former Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) Chairman Camilo Sabio, former Department of Justice (DOJ) Undersecretary Ricardo Blancaflor, former Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Executive Judge Marino dela Cruz, former Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Chairman Manuel Morato, Atty. Dennis Manalo and the members of the Utopian Society.

During the interment rites, the family and relatives of Corona released butterflies expressing their gratitude for those who consoled them in their bereavement.

Corona was the 23rd Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines.
