MANILA, PHILIPPINES – After the Commission on Elections (Comelec) disqualified Sen. Grace Poe from 2016 presidential race, she is set to attend the presidential forum on Wednesday, meeting the community business leaders at the Solaire Resort in Pasay City.

The Comelec Second Division disqualified Poe’s certificate of candidacy for presidency for her failure of not meeting the 10-year residency requirement for presidential candidates mandated by the 1987 Philippine Constitution.

“We would like to declare the respondent who seeks the highest position in the land within the gift of our people, it is our duty to resolve this case by applying the Constitution, law, jurisprudence, and none other. However, Poe is not only popular, but she is potentially a good leader,” the Comelec decision read.

However, Poe will make an appeal before the full session of the Comelec.

Being disappointed with the decision, she still vowed to continue the fight for the rights and foundlings and the people’s right to choose their leaders.

Poe said that she have faith in the process and is confident enough that Comelec en banc will take the side the people’s interest.
