Power restoration ongoing in 8 provinces affected by ‘Lando” — NGCP

MANILA – Power restoration works in eight provinces are ongoing, according to the 3:00 p.m. update of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) Monday.

The provinces which are still on power outage are Aurora, Bataan, Benguet, Cagayan, La Union, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan and Quezon.

For Aurora, the areas with brownouts are Dingalan, Dipaculao, Ma. Aurora, San Luis and Baler.

In Bataan, the areas on outage are Hermosa, Orani, Samal, Abucay and Balanga.

For Benguet, the areas that have been disconnected to the grid are Itogon, part of Tuba and Baguio City.

In Cagayan, areas still under power restoration are western Aparri, Ballesteros, Abulug, Sanchez Mira, Claveria, Pamplona, Sta.

Prexedes, Flora, Sta. Marcela, Luna, Pudtol and Calanasan.

For La Union, the areas still without power are Caba, Tubao, Agoo, Pugo, Rosario and Sto. Tomas.

In Nueva Ecija, the areas with ongoing line patrol and restoration works are San Isidro, San Roque, Sapang Jaen, Gapan, Natividad, Llanera, Palayan, Bongabon, Gabaldon, Laur, Rizal and Talavera.

For Pangasinan, the areas still without power are Sison, San Fabian, Mabini, Burgos, Dasol, Infanta, Anda and Bolinao, Rosales, Villasis, Sto.

Tomas, Alcala, Vautista, Bayambang, Balungao, and Basista.

In Quezon, the towns without power are Real, Infanta, Gen. Nakar, Mulanay, San Francisco and Catanauan.

The grid operator added it has restored power to the provinces of Apayao, Batangas, Isabela, Kalinga, Tarlac and Zambales.

NGCP spokesperson Cynthia Alabanza said in a press conference Monday that 10 distribution utilities in Luzon were affected by Typhoon “Lando.”

The transmission firm reported on Sunday there were 10 provinces that had power outages due to typhoon “Lando”, which are Apayao, Aurora, Batangas, Cagayan, Isabela, Kalinga, La Union, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Quezon, Tarlac and Zambales.

NGCP stressed the power outage was either caused by its transmission facilities or the distribution facilities of the ECs.

The power company stressed it has available materials to repair the damages to its transmission facilities and its line crews are placed in strategic positions to facilitate immediate restoration work.
