MANILA – With Senator Grace Poe expected to be declaring her presidential candidacy today, several political party members and show business personalities have been said to be supporters and possible attendees in her declaration.

According to an unnamed source, Poe has been scheduled to make her announcement at the University of the Philippines campus around 6 p.m. today.

She will be delivering a 12-minute speech and will present her platform of government, including the ‘core principles and programs guiding her run for public office.

Hours before her declaration, allies and supporters have started putting up posters and banners with texts ‘Grace Poe 2016,’ ‘Sama-sama Poe’ and ‘Tuloy na Poe’ surrounding the venue.

Some of the celebrity couples who have been supporters of the neophyte senator were Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez, Zoren Legazpi and Carmina Villaroel, and Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres-Gomez, said the same source.

Among the political parties, the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), National Unity Party (NUP), Makabayan bloc, and the An Waray group were said to be gathering and making a coalition in support of Poe’s presidential bid.

Should Poe indeed join the presidential race in next year’s national elections, she will be going against Vice President Jejomar “Jojo” Binay and former Interior Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II who have earlier announced their interest in seeking the country’s highest post.
