LOOK: SONA 2015 fashion

MANILA — Aside from the President’s report on the state of the nation, the annual State of the Nation Address (SONA) is famous for the glitz and the glamour.

It’s the time of the year that government officials and guests can don their most fashionable outfit and walk down the red carpet on their way to Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City on Monday, July 27.

This year–President Benigno Aquino III’s sixth and last SONA–the general theme seems to be simplicity and natural elegance. However, simplicity comes at a price. According to some reports, a Filipiniana tierno from a famous designer could fetch anywhere between PhP 25,000 to PhP 50,000 (CAD $715 to $1,432), while a designer barong tagalog could be around PhP 20,000 to PhP 30,000 (CAD $573 to $859).
