PAGASA: Southwest monsoon may bring flashfloods to Zambales

MANILA — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) says that the southwest monsoon or “hanging habagat” may bring flashfloods to Zambales on Sunday.
In its Weather Bulletin Sunday, PAGASA said “monsoon rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides will be experienced over Zambales.
”
The southwest monsoon — better known as “hanging habagat” — brings rains to the country from April to October.
PAGASA also warned occasional rains will likely be experienced in Mindoro, Bataan, Pangasinan and Benguet.
Other parts of the country, including Metro Manila, could have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the archipelago will experience moderate to strong winds coming from the southwest, causing seas to be moderate to rough.
