Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Signed Two Agreements with Brazil

CANADA – The MP for Oakville East and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, Anita Anand, announced that she signed two new agreements with her counterpart in Brazil, Mauro Vieira. In her social media post dated July 15, 2026, she revealed that they were the Customs Mutual Assistance Agreement and the a new Memorandum of Understanding on Health Sector Cooperation.
With these two agreements, she emphasized her hope that these might bring the two countries together in cooperation. She foresaw the strengthening allyship between their two customs authorities to “improve border security, facilitate legitimate trade, and combat customs-related crime.” As for the new Memorandum of Agreement, its main objective is to “deepen collaboration in public health and science by bringing together Canadian and Brazilian expertise.”
