UNITED STATES – Singer-actress Ariana Grande has exited the new season of American Horror Story, according to multiple entertainment sources.

Grande, the executive producer of her upcoming album Petals, stepped down before the start of production, ending the speculation about her return to TV following her recognized performance in the movie Wicked.

While no official statement has been posted, reports say the decision was made because of scheduling conflicts, as she continues work on her music. Representatives for the actress have not yet commented on the matter.

Grande’s casting had fans eager to see her take on a role in Ryan Murphy’s horror series. However, the production is anticipated to move forward with a revised lineup.

Despite the singer’s departure, she remains booked with major projects, including the highly anticipated release of her eighth studio album, which is set for release on July 31.
