CANADA – While Vancouver won’t host its traditional Canada Place display, the surrounding cities are stepping up with massive festivals that range from lakeside magic to high-energy rock concerts- complete with fireworks of course!

For those who want the full-on party atmosphere, Burnaby and Surrey are the heavy hitters this year. Burnaby’s StreetFest on Central Park offers a non-stop lineup of live music, food trucks, and a beer garden, culminating in a 10:15pm fireworks finale. Surrey is going all out at the Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre in Cloverdale, featuring Canadian country artist Josh Ross and rock icon Lee Aaron, alongside Indigenous entertainers and amusement rides, with their fireworks closing out the night at 10:30 p.m.

If you prefer a view that feels like a scene out of a movie, head to Coquitlam’s celebration at Town Centre Park where they bring a wide range of fun, family-friendly activities and games for everyone to enjoy, with the night sky being filled with fireworks after dark. Or check out White Rock where they offer a stunning waterfront backdrop at Memorial Park, and catch Bad Medicine (a Bon Jovi tribute) before the fireworks light up the bay at 10:30 p.m.

Admission for all these festivals are completely free on July 1.
