COPENHAGEN, Denmark — The Philippine Embassy in Denmark issued an advisory Monday, informing Filipinos in Greenland that they are closely monitoring the recent developments in the autonomous Danish territory.
They advised Filipinos to be cautious of their surroundings, follow directives from Greenland authorities, and maintain constant communication with the Philippine Embassy should tensions escalate.
“At this time, there is no cause for alarm. The Embassy stands ready to provide assistance should the need arise and encourages all Filipinos to remain calm, vigilant, and well-informed by relying on official and credible sources of information,” a part of the advisory read.
The advisory came amid continued heightened remarks by US President Donald Trump about acquiring Greenland from the Kingdom of Denmark.
As of June 2025, there are 1,110 Filipinos in Greenland, with the majority residing in the capital, Nuuk, according to the Philippine Embassy.
