22 JULY 2025, SURREY, B.C. Last 19 July 2025, the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver joined the Filipino community at the Surrey Fusion Festival held at Holland Park in Surrey, B.C. The Philippine Pavilion at the festival was mounted by members and volunteers from the Surrey Philippine Independence Day Society (SPIDS).

The Philippine pavilion has been a fixture at the annual Surrey Fusion Festival for the last 17 years.  This year marks the 18th edition of the weekend festival, and hosted about 50 participating pavilions. PCG Vancouver was represented by Vice Consul Marco Harder, who joined the Philippine contingent at the cultural parade that formally opened the festival.

Surrey Fusion Festival is an annual weekend event featuring pavilions showcasing various cultures from all over the world. Since the festival’s inception in 2008, the event has featured cuisine, music, dance, and other forms of cultural expression as a celebration of the city’s multiculturalism.
