ASEAN Joins the 2025 Victoria Drive Summer Cultural and Food Festival in Vancouver

Vancouver, BC. 14 August 2025 – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver participated, alongside other ASEAN members namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Laos, in the 2025 Victoria Drive Summer Cultural and Food Festival, which took place at Jones Park in Vancouver.

Organized by the Victoria Drive Business Improvement Association (VDBIA), the festival celebrated the rich cultural heritage, culinary traditions, and community spirit of the different communities in Vancouver.

The festival began with a parade through the park, followed by brief speeches from several local officials and invited guests.

  Consul General Mohd Afandi bin Abu Bakar of Malaysia delivered a speech on behalf of the ASEAN Consuls General in Vancouver (ACGV), in his role as the current Chair of the ACGV.

Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin was also called on stage to deliver her greetings on behalf of the Philippine Consulate.

The Philippine Consulate’s booth featured Hablon, Styles and Hues, a textile vendor offering beautifully crafted pieces, lovingly woven by women artisans from the Philippines.  The Philippine booth also handed out the Winter Escapade 10 flyers to interested attendees and distributed brochures featuring various tourist destinations across all regions of the country and small tokens to visitors.

The festival featured cultural performances from various countries and hosted around fifty (50) exhibitors including Hapag, a restaurant specializing in Filipino cuisine.
