MANILA – Several members of the Cabinet of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. met on Thursday to discuss the priority programs of the current administration.
Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon said there was an instruction from Marcos to hasten the implementation of the projects and programs aimed at propelling growth in the country.
“A lot of Cabinet secretaries were there pero (but) not all kasi baka hindi available ‘yung iba. Pero maraming mga Gabineteng dumating (because maybe some of them were unavailable. But many Cabinet members came),” Dizon said in a chance interview with Palace reporters, when asked about the agenda of the meeting at the New Executive Building (NEB) at Malacañan Palace in Manila.
“Napag-usapan lang ‘yung mga kailangan nating gawin kasi ang sabi ng Pangulo kailangan bilisan natin kasi kailangan nating gawin para sa mga kababyayan natin. So, nag-meeting ang ilang mga Cabinet member para pag-usapan anong mga programang priority na kailangang bilisan pa natin para sa mga mamamayan (We just discussed what we need to do because the President said we need to hurry up because we need to do it for our fellow citizens. So, some Cabinet members met to discuss what priority programs we need to expedite for the people),” he added.
Dizon did not provide additional details about the specific programs presented during the meeting.
Apart from Dizon, some of the Cabinet secretaries spotted at the NEB for the meeting were Jonvic Remulla (Justice), Francisco Tiu-Laurel Jr. (Agriculture), Rex Gatchalian (Social Welfare), Sonny Angara (Education), and Jay Ruiz (Communications).
