MANILA –  President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. maintained majority trust and approval ratings in April, according to the latest Tugon ng Masa survey released by OCTA Research.

The survey, conducted from April 2 to 5, showed that 60 percent of Filipinos trust Marcos, while 59 percent are satisfied with his performance.

Both figures dipped from November 2024 levels, with trust down five percentage points and satisfaction lower by four points.

“Despite declining ratings, most adult Filipinos continue to express trust and approval for President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.,” OCTA Research said in its report released on Tuesday.

The lower scores were driven largely by lower scores in Mindanao, the stronghold of former president Rodrigo Duterte.

Trust remained high in Marcos’ northern strongholds, with Ilocos Region at 92 percent, Cordillera Administrative Region at 87 percent, and Cagayan Valley at 83 percent.

Survey results showed Marcos fared best among the poorest socioeconomic class, with 66 percent of Class E respondents expressing trust.

Marcos’ trust and approval ratings were significantly higher than those of other top officials, including Senate President Francis Escudero, House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, and Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo, OCTA said.

The findings suggest continued public confidence in President Marcos’ leadership as he is midway through his term.

The survey was conducted among 1,200 adult respondents and has a ±3 percent margin of error at a 95 percent confidence level.
