One Filipino killed, three others wounded in Libya attack
MANILA — A Filipino worker was killed and three others were seriously wounded in last Sunday’s bomb attack in the Libyan city of Zawiya, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Tuesday.
“Four Filipinos were seriously injured in the bombing on March 29. They were rushed to a local hospital, but unfortunately one of them died,” DFA spokesman Charles Jose said as he declined to disclose their identities.
Jose said the Philippine government will assist in the repatriation of the killed Filipino’s remains to the country.
Manila is enforcing mandatory repatriation of its 4,000 workers in Libya due to the ongoing civil war.
