VATICAN CITY – Pope Francis remains in stable condition as he continues treatment for pneumonia at a Rome hospital, the Vatican announced Sunday.
The 88-year-old pontiff is receiving high-flow oxygen therapy but does not require a ventilator and has no fever, according to the latest medical update.
“The Pope’s clinical condition remains stable. He does not require non-invasive mechanical ventilation, only high-flow oxygen therapy, and he is afebrile,” the statement read.
Despite the complexity of his condition, doctors maintain a cautious prognosis.
On Sunday morning, Pope Francis attended Mass with his caregivers before spending the day alternating between rest and prayer.
