The Jabidah massacre occurred on March 18, 1968 where an undetermined number of Filipino Muslim recruits who were being trained in Corregidor Island as part of a commando unit called Jabidah were killed by their training officers after a covert plan to reclaim Sabah was exposed. One survived the ordeal to expose the massacre that pushed then University of the Philippine professor Nur Misuari to form the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) that started the decades old war in Mindanao.
