DOJ-NBI special team mulling whether to conduct ocular inspection in Mamasapano
MANILA — The Department of Justice-National Bureau of Investigation (DOJ-NBI) special team is still studying whether to conduct an ocular inspection of the scene of the encounter in Mamasapano, Maguindanao on Jan. 25, 2015.
According to Justice Secretary Leila M.
De Lima, she will meet with the members of the special team this week to talk about the possible conduct of an ocular inspection.
De Lima said the special team is meticulously monitoring the investigation being conducted in the Senate and the House of Representatives in connection with the incident.
She added that they are also coordinating with Philippine National Police (PNP) Director Benjamin Magalong, the chair of the Board of Inquiry (BOI), to ask for a copy of all the pieces of evidence gathered, particularly the sworn statements, so that the special team can start with the examination of the evidence.
